Bankura is a city with immense geographic significance. It is located in an intermediate zone between the Chotanagpur plateau and the plains of Bengal, giving it a strategic industrial location. Owing to its resourcefulness, it was a major administrative centre during the colonial period.

Itinerary

Day 1- Arrive, check-in and rest. Then visit the Susunia Hills and Mukutmonipur Dam.
Day 2- Visit Joypur Jungle and Shyam Rai Temple.
Bankura is famous for its sweet local treasures such as Mecha Sandesh . Another local sweet, Pera is very famous. Among drinks, Mahua is a local drink which is popular and very easily available. There are no fancy restaurants here, but there are some eating joints which could offer a modest variety, such as North Indian and Bengali cuisine.
